Detailed project description

The objective of the study was to develop a reliable traffic model for Beirut’s Central District using data collection and field surveys (including traffic counts, OD, road characteristics, etc.). The model was calibrated using the EMME/2 tool, and several tests were conducted to assess the impacts of various development options on infrastructure or traffic regulation. A base case growth scenario was proposed for demand, with forecasts made for 2010 and 2020.
Based on the results, options for road development, traffic regulation, parking policy, and modal split were analyzed.
