NORTH GATE – TRAFFIC IMPACT ASSESSMENT – TMS CONSULT
NORTH GATE – TRAFFIC IMPACT ASSESSMENT

Detailed project description

The Traffic Impact Study was developed in accordance with the detailed land use plan proposed for the North Gate Project. A major objective was to assess both trip generation to and from the project and the capacity of the surrounding road network. The study identified optimal solutions and measures of effectiveness for roadway transportation in the area and highlighted constraints.

The study evaluated the roadway’s capacity to accommodate expected traffic volumes. It assessed traffic flows based on the North Gate’s current development pattern, related trip distribution, and existing site conditions to determine the road network’s level of service. This assessment adhered to the latest version of the “Guidelines, Procedures and Methodology for Review and Approval of Traffic Impact Studies,” dated February 2009.

Services provided

  • Analysis of existing traffic flows, and assessment of current conditions.
  • Calibration of the existing traffic model of the sub-area for year 2009.
  • Assessment of the forecasted traffic conditions for years 2016 and 2026 (with and without the North-Gate project).
  • Analysis of the project’s impact (based on two scenarios, with and without the North Gate Project).
  • Analysis of the macro-modelling assessments results.
  • Analysis of micro-modelling results for the studied area, considering the forecasted traffic volumes.
  • Proposition of certain mitigation measures for the study area to improve its functioning.
