Detailed description of project
The ESIA (Environmental & Social Impact Assessment) is required to ensure that all project-related environmental and social impacts, direct and indirect, are fully examined and addressed, and that no significant residual impacts remain after all possible mitigation measures are applied. The ESIA study complies with the requirements of the national Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Decree (Decree no. 8633 dated August 16, 2012) and the Environmental Protection Law No. 444/ 2002.
A traffic assessment was performed along with the EIA. A traffic model was specifically elaborated and calibrated to precisely assess the potential volumes that will be attracted by the future road.
Based on the traffic assessment, several scenarios were analyzed and compared to evaluate possible improvements / amendments, and provide recommendations and mitigation measures.
