ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR ROAD REHABILITATION

 Detailed project Description

The primary objective of this study is to assess the operational conditions of selected sections of the Lebanese classified road network, totaling approximately 420 km, in order to conduct an economic feasibility study for planned rehabilitation projects.

The study has three key milestones:

– Milestone 1: Completion of data collection and tabulation for a pilot project covering 34.5 km of road pavement.

– Milestone 2: Completion of data collection and tabulation for an additional 382 km of road pavement.

– Milestone 3: Conducting an economic feasibility study for the rehabilitation of the entire selected network, which encompasses a total length of 416.5 km.

Services provided

• Collecting required data through field survey and data collection (traffics figures; crashes, costs)

• Presenting a detailed description of each road section.

• Traffic analysis including base year figures and traffic forecasts.

• Developing socio-economic study for all road sections.

• Developing a specific method to assess the impact of rehabilitation projects on road safety conditions

• Proposing actions and adequate measures to improve operation road safety conditions on the studied road sections.

• Performing an Economic Feasibility Assessment, and prioritizing projects for the rehabilitation of the entire selected network using HDM-4 and considering crashes risks.
