The Lebanese administration is in the process of developing the Land Transport Sector Strategy.
The EU-funded “SISSAF” project co-operates closely with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) – Directorate General for Land and Maritime Transportation (DGLMT) and with the collaboration of TMS Consult as representative of INRO, in carrying out a workshop: “Comprehensive Traffic Modelling for Lebanese Network”.
In this framework, a transport model is under development and upgraded to comprise the whole network of Lebanon taken into consideration International, primary and secondary roads as well as the urban road network of Beirut, Tripoli, Saida, Zahleh and other major cities. The traffic model will incorporate socio-economic and environmental parameters as well as assist in the production of relevant studies.
The workshop included presentations on the Traffic model in Lebanon in a historical and general perspective, given by Ms. Rayane Wehbé, representative of INRO – Partner TMS Consult.
