Detailed description of project
The objective of the study was to build a reliable traffic model for Beirut’s Central District based on data collection and field surveys (traffic counts, OD, road characteristics, etc.). The model was calibrated using the EMME/2 tool; several tests were performed to analyze the impacts of development options on infrastructure or traffic regulation. A base case growth scenario was proposed for the demand, and forecasts for 2010 and 2020 were performed accordingly.
Based on the results, options for road development, traffic regulation, parking policy and modal split were analyzed. |
