With global climate issues, mobility has become a major concern for many cities. NMT (Non Motorised Transport) modes should be made accessible to all users by promoting better sharing of public space.

The development of these modes in Lebanese cities is a crucial component of the transportation system and should be part of a comprehensive, sustainable solution that considers geographical integration and the interplay between different travel modes. The aim of this study is to enhance accessibility in urban areas, provide mobility for various user categories, and address problems of congestion and pollution. The main objective is to promote alternatives to car use, including NMT modes, and to reclaim urban space more generally.

The services performed within this study were divided into three phases:

• Diagnosis and Initial Orientation:
• Data collection on current pedestrian facilities in the cities.
• Identifying priorities at different levels: institutional, regulatory, and urban space sharing.
• Elaboration of Technical Guidelines:
• Establish a common reference for road development and drafting of technical guidelines.
• Provide reliable and practical tools for designers, planners, and developers.
• Draft general and specific guidelines for the NMT implementation.
• Preliminary Project on Priority Sites:
• Preforming preliminary design on the bas
• Develop communication tools for an awareness campaign aimed at elected officials and stakeholders. This campaign should contribute to changing behaviors regarding the use and management of urban space.
